DTC Challenge 1

Challenge 1 invited teams to develop autonomous technologies to enhance response capability in mass casualty events. In the Systems competition, teams navigated three courses simulating an airplane crash site, a convoy ambush, and a battlefield scenario in Perry, Georgia.

The Roboscout team was represented by PI Dr. Derek Paley and 8 members from the University of Maryland and the UAV Research and Operations Center. The team was the top funded university team, second place funded team, and earned third place out of eleven teams competing in the Systems Challenge 1. They have been officially invited to participate in Phase 2 of the DARPA Triage Challenge.
